Evidently HPs acquisition of EDS persuaded Fujitsu that theres money to be made in the services sector because its combining its US product and service businesses under one roof to drive revenue growth and help it compete against IBM and HP. On October 1, the doors will open on a newly created Fujitsu North America Holding Inc, a consolidation but not apparently an integration of Fujitsu Consulting Inc, Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation and Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc with a collective revenue base approaching billion a year.

Ingram Micro, the worlds biggest IT distributor, has lowered its third-quarter outlook. Its now expecting to net million- million, 18-23 cents a share on revenues of .3 billion-.6 billion. Its also trying a freight-recovery initiative to offset rising fuel costs.

Citrix took its virtualization widgetry, repackaged it, and went into the cloud business Monday, announcing a new Citrix Cloud Center (C3) product family targeted at the would-be hosted cloud services that are chasing both consumers and enterprise data centers. C3 is supposed to be a complete set of infrastructure building blocks for hosting, managing and delivering large-scale, on-demand, cloud-based services, whether infrastructure or applications, on both Windows and Linux.

Samsung has been chasing SanDisk trying to get it to accept an acquisition offer of a share cash, .85 billion total, and was frustrated enough with the American flash companys negative response to go public with its unsolicited, potentially industry-altering, proposition late this evening and publish its letter to the SanDisk board.
